- Go to Bruceton Mills. If you are in Morgantown, follow 68 east about 18 miles to the Bruceton Mills exit (exit 23). Take a left onto WV Rt 26 North for about ¼ mile. You will go past the BP and Mobil gas stations, and just after a tiny strip mall, turn left (West) across the bridge over Big Sandy creek into “downtown” Bruceton Mills. From the bridge, take the first right (<50 yds) (across from the “Clear Mountain” bank). This is Union St./Compressor Station Rd. with the Family Dollar Store and the fire department. Follow this road for EXACTLY 3.0 miles from this turn to our driveway on the right. You will go through some big fields (at 1.5 miles), a little wooded hollow and then my house is at the top of the next hill, first yard on the right, long asphalt driveway. The house is red and sits back from the road. If you come to a T, you need to go back to the third driveway on the left. You can find the address on Mapquest.

- Description of Business
- The Heasley Homestead is nestled in the hills of Northern West Virginia in Preston County, about 3.5 miles north of I-68 at the Bruceton Mills exit 23. (2988 Compressor Station Rd, Bruceton Mills, WV) The 50-acre property and surrounding neighbor’s properties contain 2250 maple trees (both sugar and red) that are being tapped for maple syrup. Natural gravity tubing systems are being used to collect the sap, and pump lines bring the sap to the new sugarhouse. The sap is then processed with a reverse osmosis machine, a 3’ x 12’ oil-fired evaporator, a filter-press and a water-jacketed canner to produce and bottle the maple syrup. We also make maple sugar, maple cream, maple candy and maple cotton candy from the syrup. The Heasley Homestead Maple has been increasing production every year and has just finished construction a new 50’ x 70’ “Sugar Shack”. Please stop by during maple season and see a small producer’s operation, and sample some of West Virginia’s prize-winning maple syrup, sugar, cream and/or candy.
