Sweet Woods' Maple farm started tapping trees in 2017. Every season we have continued to make improvements based on modern science, to optimize sap production. We currently have 110 taps on 3/16 tubing with mechanical vacuum. Our sugar bush is only around 2 acres and is predominantly red maples. We use a bucket RO and cook on a 2X4 flat pan, with a home made evaporator, using wood fuel.
