Nestled in the hills of Brooke County, you will find the northern most maple sugar producing operation in West Virginia, Family Roots Farm.
Started over 15 years ago as a family project with a few buckets and a turkey cooker, Family Roots Farm has now grown to a thriving business of over 1,000 taps. Not only are they one of Brooke County’s biggest maple syrup producers, they are the 2015 North American Maple Syrup Council Conference winners of the World’s Best stirred maple sugar. Over the last five years Family Roots Farm has expanded their maple syrup and maple sugar to many other value added products. Family Roots Farm continues to build their enterprise, using the same maple equipment, to now produce Sweet Sorghum, a natural molasses, in the fall of each year.
