For the second year Future Generations University in collaboration with the West Virginia Department of Agriculture offered a certificate level course in Maple Sap Collection and Syrup Processing. The field residential was held the last weekend of November at the Ronk Family Farm. The course is comprised on a 3-day weekend of practical instruction, a month of online instruction and a mentoring period with a WVMSPA maple producer. All those completing the course are automatically enrolled in the WVMSPA, and many go on to become maple syrup producers. For more information or future opportunities contact paula@future.edu.
